Mr Abhiram Sharma
Mr Sharma is a published General & Colorectal Surgeon practising at the Wythenshawe Hospital; part of the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Sharma undertook basic sciences and clinical research under Professor John Monson and Professor Lesley Walker culminating in an MD in 2005. He Completed Higher Surgical training in the Yorkshire Deanery where he trained in Leeds, Hull and Sheffield among other hospitals.
Mr Sharma further trained as pelvic floor and proctology fellowship in Mannheim, Germany under Professor Alex Herold. Mr Sharma then went to Rochester, NY, USA for a colorectal fellowship to further his experience in colorectal surgery.

Mr Sharma is the Clinical Governance and Mortality Review Lead for General Surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital and also an ATLS Instructor. Mr Sharma is also an Honorary Senior lecturer in University of Manchester and is a supervisor of MSc and MD students.
In addition to his NHS commitments, he has published more than 50 scientific papers on numerous subjects including, perianal fistula, pelvic floor disorders and trans anal endoscopic surgery and colorectal cancer.
